Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Wisper for using our website, early-access programme and dictation service.

On this page
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Wisper ("Wisper", "we", "us") that governs your use of the Wisper website, early-access programme, apps and services (the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, joining the waitlist or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.
The Service
Wisper is AI-powered voice dictation. You speak, and the Service converts your speech into text, then refines it by removing filler words, fixing grammar and structuring the result. We are continually improving the Service, so features may be added, changed or removed over time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we will give you reasonable notice.
Early access
Wisper is currently in early access. If we invite you to use pre-release versions:
- Features may be incomplete, change without notice or be withdrawn.
- The Service may be unavailable at times, and data loss is possible, so keep copies of anything important.
- We may limit usage, such as minutes of dictation, while we scale.
- We would love your feedback, but you are under no obligation to give it.
Early-access versions are provided "as is", without the service commitments that may apply to paid plans later.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, and able to form a binding contract. You agree to:
- give accurate information and keep it up to date;
- keep your sign-in credentials confidential and use a strong, unique password;
- tell us promptly at security@wisper.in if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
You are responsible for activity under your account. One person may not share a personal account with others. Teams plans exist for that.
Your content
You own your content. "Your content" means the audio you dictate, the text Wisper produces from it, and anything else you submit. We claim no ownership of it.
To run the Service, you give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual copies in backups that are deleted on our normal schedule.
We use your content to improve AI models only if you opt in, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights needed to submit it. If you dictate other people's words or personal information, for example in meeting notes, make sure you have their permission where the law requires it.
AI output
Wisper uses machine learning, which is powerful but not perfect. Output can occasionally mishear words, change meaning or contain errors. Review text before you rely on it, especially for legal, medical, financial or other high-stakes uses. The Service is a writing tool, not professional advice, and you remain responsible for what you send or publish.
Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:
- break any law or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
- record or transcribe people without consent where consent is legally required;
- generate content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually exploits minors, or incites violence;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service except under our responsible disclosure policy;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, or bypass usage limits or security measures;
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law permits despite this restriction;
- access the Service with automated means to build a competing product or train a competing model;
- resell or sublicense the Service without our written agreement.
We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including removing content or suspending access.
Plans, fees and payment
The Service is free during early access. When paid plans launch:
- Prices, usage limits and plan features will be shown before you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before renewal. You can cancel at any time in your account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees are exclusive of taxes such as GST, which we will charge where required.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase for an existing subscription, so you can cancel before it applies.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable, but we will consider refund requests in good faith.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, models, trademarks and the name "Wisper", is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms transfers our intellectual property to you.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Third-party services
The Service may let you connect third-party apps, or run on third-party platforms such as an operating system or app store. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use creates a risk of harm to the Service, other users or us. Where reasonable, we will give notice and a chance to fix the issue first. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your content.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those on ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law.
Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that output will be accurate.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or INR 5,000.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
If you use the Service for business purposes, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms, including reasonable legal costs. We will notify you promptly of any such claim and let you control its defence.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at legal@wisper.in so we can try to resolve the issue informally. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot resolve it, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- Notices. We will send notices to the email address on your account. You can send notices to legal@wisper.in.
